We Are Officially in the Army: Our First PCS Move

Rolland got orders to report to Fort Drum New York. We both know that PCSing is part of army life, but this move is going to be really hard. We have had such an amazing time in Northern Virginia and we have some great friends. But God has a plan and He is soverign - so I am putting it out there, I will be happy at Fort Drum.
For those who aren't sure where this place is (I was one of them) its about 67 miles north of Syracuse, about 30 min. from the Canadian border. And yes, they do get a LOT of snow!! These are pictures
from a couple of years ago. They got 146 inches in 2 weeks! But, I keep telling myself, thats not average. Average is just 110 inches! I am from "Snowflake" afterall, I CAN DO THIS!! The unit is 10th Mountain Division and Rolly will be deplying to either Iraq or Afghanistan in the winter/spring. We knew our time was coming, but right now we are just concentrating on the move and being together!

Summer Vacation Pictures

There are so many pictures and great memories from my vacation. We spent some time in Snowflake with my parents for 4th of July and Pioneer Days. We went to Disneyland, California Adventure, and San Deigo. And spent some time with Rolland's family in Mesa. It was so much fun, but after five weeks without my hubby I was ready to come home! It was so nice to see those of you who I actually did get a chance to see (Thanks to Pioneer Days!!) Enjoy the slide show!

So Sad It's Over

Most of you probably know that I LOVE dancing, and so its not hard to imagine that 'So You Think You Can Dance' is my FAVORITE show.  So here is a LARGE compilation of my favorite dances of the season.  Enjoy!

Before I am Without Computer...

We are getting ready to go on a five week vacation. I am really excited to spend some time in Arizona and see all of our friends and family, but am really bummed because Rolland can't go with us - work always gets in the way!! So I am a little nervous about flying with a 2 and a 3 year old by myself, but am excited about taking the girls to Disneyland for the first time and Pioneer Days and all that good small town stuff. But before I travel all over the place and will most likely be computer-less for most of July, here are some updates to what we have been doing...

Every week during the summer our playgroup meets at a different playground. We went to this community farm, Frying Pan Park. The kids had a lot of fun visiting with the animals, taking a hayride, and playing on the tractors! I love our playgroup and all the Mom's. I started a Mom's Night Out last fall. Once a month we get together for dinner, a movie, both... Its so nice to know you have a girls night once a month to look forward to! They have all been a real blessing to me!

My friend's Lizzy's husband is getting ready to be deployed to Afghanistan so we took a girl's afternoon to walk around Old Town Alexandra. She had never been there and it's one of my favorite places, so it was fun to show her around all of my favorite stores. The weather was beautiful and it was so relaxing watching the boats come in and the water. There are so many places here that I am going to miss when we have to move. Hopefully the Army will be kind to us and send us somewhere equally as beautiful!

Memorial Day 2008 - Remember Me

This video really moved me. While we are BBQ-ing, enjoying our long weekend, please take time to remember all of those men and women who have died for OUR freedom! Its easy to become detached to what's going on in the world when it doesn't directly effect us. And since Rolland'd job is funerals for the armed services, we have realized up close the great sacrifice it is to serve the US in the military. Please, take time to say a prayer for our service men and women and their families. Have a happy and safe Memorial Day!

Arlington National Cemetery Caisson

Yay! I found my hubby on YouTube!! Rolland is in the front on the right. This is in between funerals so you don't see the casket on back. But hopefully I can find actual video of a mission. Its hard because you are not allowed to film them. Hope you enjoy - I am so proud of him!!
