Rolland got orders to report to Fort Drum New York. We both know that PCSing is part of army life, but this move is going to be really hard. We have had such an amazing time in Northern Virginia and we have some great friends. But God has a plan and He is soverign - so I am putting it out there, I will be happy at Fort Drum.
For those who aren't sure where this place is (I was one of them) its about 67 miles north of Syracuse, about 30 min. from the Canadian border. And yes, they do get a LOT of snow!! These are pictures
from a couple of years ago. They got 146 inches in 2 weeks! But, I keep telling myself, thats not average. Average is just 110 inches! I am from "Snowflake" afterall, I CAN DO THIS!! The unit is 10th Mountain Division and Rolly will be deplying to either Iraq or Afghanistan in the winter/spring. We knew our time was coming, but right now we are just concentrating on the move and being together!

Wow good luck the snow looks like a ton. But i agree people can be happy anywhere if they really want to.
Hey Carrie! Thanks for your comment. I'm totally going to agree that girls are easier. I have 2 boys, after all, and they were fairly difficult for me. They were up every 1 1/2-2 hours all night long until about 6-8 months! So, Ivy is a real blessing for me right now. Good luck with the move and I'm totally impressed with your optimism. I had a hard time moving from Utah, but now that we've moved a couple times, I love the change and am excited for our future. ;)
Wow! My eyes are tearing up as I remember the sudden shock when Elliott got deployed. It looks like you've already got a really positive attitude about everything. That will REALLY help! And, like you said, the Lord is in control and will bless your family. I have found a LOT of comfort on my knees praying...and I'm sure you will too.
Good luck with the move to NY! Enjoy every second with your husband! Has he been deployed before?
